Building Digital Warriors!

What we believe

At pixelkids, we believe in the power of technology to open up a world of possibilities for our children. Provided they are given the skills and tools needed to thrive in the online world. Where others may seek to police and  prevent, we believe in educating and empowering young children with Digital Citizenship, to make sure they can explore the online world safely, and with confidence

What we do

Digital Citizenship is a skill that is best developed together with children, their parents and their teachers. For this reason, pixelkids offer a three-way approach to building these essential skills, including workshopping sessions with children, parent talks, teacher training and supporting worksheets, guides etc.

The 2018 DQTest Study

We’ve reached our goal to get 1000 South African kids to compelte the #DQTest study! Keep an eye on this page for the results during the first half of 2019.

P.S.: You can still take the test to determine your child’s DQ score by clicking the link below

pixelkids is on a mission to get at least 1000 South African children between the ages of 8 and 18 to complete the DQTest by 30 November 2018. This online platform allows us to create a national ‘Digital Intelligence’ benchmark for South Africa so that we may use it in our efforts to upskill the country’s children. The DQ Test is a quick assessment for students to find out their preliminary DQ Score, and gives a general overview of their competencies across the 8 fundamental Digital Citizenship skills. It is free and can be completed in about 40 minutes. There will be a mini report supplied after completion, both to students individually (they will be asked to enter their parents’email addresses when they complete the tests) and to schools who sign up.

The online platform is part of #DQEveryChild™, a new global alliance which aims to increase children’s digital intelligence quotient (DQ) and help them safely navigate digital technology.
